Achievements
Chen Jiyu contributes a lot to the study and practice of Estuarine and Coastal research among which one of his most important services is his investigation in the influence of the “Three Gorges Project” on the Yangtze River estuary ecological environment which enables him to have made great contributions to the exploration and engineering construction of China’s costal zone, especially in water resources, tideland reclamation and embankment works.
He published over 150 papers and was once issued the National Labor Medal and praised as the one of the national advanced educators. He also won one first prize of National Science and Technology Progress Award and another 15 Science and Technology Progress Awards of provincial level.
HENG Mingyuan is at present professor of ECNU’s Department of Chemistry. Being the chief scientist of the state key fundamental research “Project 973” of “green chemistry of oil refining and basic organic chemical synthesis”, he is in charge of research project fund of over 60 million Yuan from Ministry of Science and Technology, National Natural Science Foundation of China and SINOPEC.

Short Bio:
HE Ji-Feng is currently a professor of computer science at East China Normal University (ECNU). He is also the Dean of Software Engineering Institute, ECNU. He graduated from the Department of Mathematics, Fudan University in 1965 and then worked in ECNU. In 1986, he was promoted to the rank of Professor. He joined in Stanford University and San Francisco University, USA during 1980 to 1981 as a Visiting Researcher. He joined Computing Lab of Oxford University, U.K. during 1983 to 1998 as a Senior Researcher. From 1998 to 2005, he was a senior research fellow of International Institute for Software Technology, United Nations University (UNU-IIST), Macau, China. In 2005, he was elected as CAS Academician. And Recently, he was appointed as the Chief Scientist for the “Trusted Software Fundamental Research” as a major research plan launched by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC). And he was also appointed as the Chief Scientist for the “Theory and Practice on Coordination and Survivability for Massive Amount of Information” project as the National Basic Research Program (“973” Program) founded by the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST). In 2011, he was appointed as the Chief Scientist for the “Internet of Things” project as China Technology Research Development Plan (“863” Program) founded by the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST). And also he was appointed as the leader of the creative research group of National Natural Science Foundation of China.
In recent years, he has also been working on the mathematical model about the co-design of software and hardware, his work focus on design of real-time embedded systems and Cyber Physical system, his work focus on embedded system and the Internet of Things.
